Medical Aid For Palestinians

Stride for Gaza 2025

My Story

From October 8th-31st, I am striding for Gaza in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

Over the past two years we have watched Israel perpertrate a genocide in Gaza, through barbaric, targeted violence and engineered famine.

To mark two years since the beginning of this genocide, I will be running and walking 98km in 23 days and virtually following the displacement journey of one of MAP's Palestinian colleagues in Gaza.

Those who know me well, know how much I love both running and walking. It feels right to dedicate something so vitally important to me to this cause. Every step I take will be taken as an act of solidarity and resistance; as well as a means of honouring the thousands of lives lost.

If you are able to, I would urge you to donate to my page and help me support MAP as they remain for the Palestinian people, no matter how desperate the circumstances.

You can also track my progress via the map on my page. Thank you!

I am planning to listen to the audiobook of Susan Abulhawa's Mornings in Jenin as I run and walk. If you would like to read along with me, you can buy a copy from my bookshop here (all of my profits will go to The Sameer Project*).

You can read my recent writing about Palestine here:

Reading, Parenting and Taking Action for Palestine: 'A vividly-told and engrossing novel about Palestine you won't want to put down + small, practical actions you can take for Gaza today'

Reading, Parenting and Thinking About Palestine: 'I Still Believe Reading is a Radically Hopeful Act'.

*I make 10% commission on books sold from my bookshop.org storefront; all of which will be donated.
